J'etudie le Francais - I am learning French!!
Well, I never knew a word in French until this year.
I have a Duolingo account since 2015.
But I never really was sincere with using the app.
Yes, it was engaging, fun and creative.
I started using it with the purpose of improving my Hindi.
Yet I procrastinated badly and never really met the purpose of the app.
I introduced the Duolingo and Rosetta Stone apps to my nieces who showed interest to learn Hindi.
I have also spoken about it to some of my friends.
Yet I never really made good use of it.
I often ask myself, where will you be 5 years from now?
I probably did not ask myself this when it comes to Duolingo.
And so goes the story 5 years after I registered in Duolingo, in 2020, a friend told me about how she learns Spanish and French occasionally with this amazing app called Duolingo. I proudly said that I registered there years ago. But then I realised that I had no accomplishment to be proud of. Yet this encounter was not enough to induce me to go for it again.
A few months later, another friend talked about how she would like to learn French. She started Duolingo at a time when she lost her job due to COVID. She treated Duolingo like her new job. She scored high, crossed leagues and happily kept moving on with her French learning. This got me thinking, where am I? 5 years ago, I got introduced to this same thing but didn't really go far. I did not want to look back after another 5 years and regret it. So I decided to keep going and get fluent in my new found language, Francais.
Just over a month now, I have been using the app almost every day and I just passed checkpoint 1.
CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS.
I will keep going and never give up :-)
I want to be fluent in German, Italian and Spanish too!! 👩😀
